From the Heart of the Adirondacks, High on the Hog was born of southern Appalachian fiddle tunes, early country music and traditional ballads. At home under a festival tent or a living room, High On the Hog draws on the simplicity of strings and voice to bring you an authentic American musical tradition. Multi-instrumentalists Bill Chamberlain,Tyler Dezago, and Marion Hoelzel bring forth strong driving melodies on fiddle,mandolin, guitar trading harmonies and swapping leads. 2023 Folk/Traditional Artist of the Year at the NY Capital Region Thomas Edison Music Awards, Drank the Gold play and sing North Atlantic dance tunes and folk songs. Both steeped in music from an early age, they have been performing together since 2015. Their album, Sipped The Silver, simultaneously features Oona Grady's deep Irish fiddle roots; James Gascoyne's compositional talents; and their shared passion for digging deep into traditional music and finding something new to say.
